what are theses vases?
by: Wendy Minnesota, USA

Hi Peter thanks for the quick response!
So is it safe too say that theses vases are around 1940 to 1945 maybe reproductions sold as souvenirs , perhaps from the Peoples Republic of China? They are very pretty vases and being in there own case makes them even more special!
We were just trying to place them where and when and who made them! Any final comments would be appreciated!!

Thanks Again, Wayne :)

Yes, I am pretty sure that they cannot be much earlier due to the colors used and the painting style. If you want you can upload a close=up picture of the face of one of the ladies. I bet the eyes are painted in a certain fashion that goes with the colors used in the clothing. (Meaning both will indicate the same period.)

I agree with Viscount. These vases have an apocryphal Qianlong mark, but they are 20th century. Usually, these vases would be attributed rather to the second half of the 20th century, judging from their decoration.
Are you sure there is no mistake with the time they were obtained?

Hi Wayne,
In my opinion, your vases are Chinese but not from Qing period.
