Vases

by John
(Europe)

Hi Peter,

Can you tell me something about the age of these objects,
are they old or new?
I also have a question about some Chinese characters,I know they are not on porcelain but on a silver Chinese vase, but maybe can you recognize them?

You can see the photos better on photobucket:

Thanks for your help.

John

Qing items
by: peter

The jar is Batavia ware, probably from the second half of the 18th century. The right vase is likely from the Tongzhi/Guangxu period.
The other vase could be 18th century.

Cannot read the mark.

All the above is pending more detailed pictures, especially with face details and bottom/foot rim. Single pictures cannot give a definitive impression. For example, the vase with the phoenix could be later in the Qing dynasty, but it should be Qing.
