Vase

Hello Peter,

Could you provide some information about

this vase ? It measures about 10" high, and

is in bright colours. The bottom is rough with

what seems to be small stones with rust spots.

The pictures show close-ups of the faces and bottom.

Hi Kurt,
I doubt that this is Chinese, but for sure it is a modern item. The bottom looks has if it has been chemically treated.

Basically, the decoration is all wrong for a (traditional) Chinese item. The faces are painted in western style, and the building or pavilion in the background stands on stilts. The whole could have been painted in SE Asia or anywhere.
