value of a vase? What is it?

I have this vase that was passed down to my from my Grandmother.. It is 25 inches high and the top measures 12 inches across.. Can anyone tell me what it is and what it's worth??

This item seems to be a mix of styles; there are some Chinese elements copied, but the central decoration is Japanese. It is either Japanese or a more recent Chinese imitation thereof. A picture of the bottom might be useful for further evaluation.
