Red Cranes and Peonies vase

I would like to know what the writing on the bottom of the vase means. I understand that red Cranes and peonies represent longevity and prosperity but would like any additional information on this piece. I am sure it is no more the 50 years old, but additional help is greatly appreciated.

Japanese cup

I'm afraid I cannot see any peonies on this Japanese cup. The flowers resemble chrysanthemums, though.
Cannot read the third character of the mark, but it looks like a name to me.
