Pos. Tea Set ?

by Dave
(Spring Hill, Fl)

Hi Peter

I am not sure what I have or if it is new or old. It looks as if it has never been used, but the raised white outside has some impressive small crazing on it, but nothing in the inside, and the bisque loks as if it has never had any liquid on it, and if the 3rd ps is a cup it is very heavy and thick.

I don't know either what this is. This is too big for tea ware, I would say. Obviously, the insert is used for soaking something in water or a liquid.
The exterior decoration copies an ancient Chinese decoration, but the items are obviously new.
The stamp is either a place name (if it is Chinese), or it could be both a place name or family name if the item is of Japanese origin.
Generally, marks are added in the center with Chinese wares, but Japanese wares do frequently have them off center.
