Japanese plate

This is Japanese.
The right part of the mark says "Made by Hyochien". The latter is or was a manufacturer in Tokyo. The column on the left has an abbreviated character which we cannot read, but it seems to be the name of the artist (porcelain painter).
Internet research shows that this is likely either Meiji or late Edo era (probably).
