by Anthony Framers

Lid

Lid

I've recently come into possession of two Chinese vases (jars) with lids that I was told are from the early 1800's. Famille Rose. Diameter is 7", Height is 8".
Does anyone have an idea of the value of these?
Thank you
Anthony

Hello,
The red flowers indeed give an impression as if they were 18th century, but part of the rest appears to be later.
From the pictures some details are difficult to check, like for example the exact tone of the white glaze.
On the other hand, the bottom seems to have some age. There is a possibility that part of the decoration was added much later.
I would try to have someone do a hands-on inspection.
As regarding value, it is better to consult a valuer.
See "Value of Antiques" on the left.
