old porcelain Chinese? Japanese? Vase

I was given this vase 30 years ago. I was told that it belonged to the persons great grandmother. She had it for many many years.

I don't know if that is true or not, and that is why I am inquiring about it.

Thank you for any information you can give me.

Thanks at least now I can narrow it down to being Japanese.
Do you know anyone who could tell me more about the vase, what the markings mean or what century it was made?

I can't tell you much about this as it apparently isn't Chinese. Vase and mark look Japanese.
