mark on vase
by: peter

This is a spurious Qianlong reign mark, which is found on many recently made items.
Someone wanted to give the impression of it being old, or tried to hide that it looks new. Scratching and smearing dirt on are the most common tactics to make items appear older.
Further, the realistic depiction of the flowers and thick enamel are also signs that an items was made later in the 20th century.
