Hello I was wondering if anyone could give their opinion on whether or not this mark is real or a fake?

You cannot tell whether it is fake without knowing on what item it was. Some marks (like this one) and variations thereof were used over hundreds of years. While this may be "real" on some items, it may be not on others.
Chinese marks don't guarantee authenticity of item.
