Large Chinese Bowl with no marks

by Leslie
(Atlanta, GA)

I have inherited this bowl (along with many other Chinese porcelains) from my in-laws. They lived in Hong Kong in the early 1950s and it was purchased then. The bowl measures 16" across the top. I don't see any marks. I am simply looking for any information as to possible age, possible use for this size bowl, etc.

Thank you!

Your bowl is probably late Qing dynasty, Guangxu reign. The interior decoration could be from the same period, or was added later. The metal foot could have been made for the western market.

Very nice and large fish bowl. Looks larger than a wash basin.
