HELP TO IDENTIFY THIS VASE

by Andrew

Hi Peter,
I have had this very small vase for quite some time now & thought it a recently made piece, if so, could you confirm this,as then I would know my skills are getting better at judging age of some of the porcelain.
Also I was drawn to the rather attractive bloom glazes...the greens have crazing, mixed bubbles & pinholes, the liver type glaze has pinholes but not much crazing.
Are these traditional or modern kiln innovations?
Any comments welcome from you.
regards,Andrew.

Japanese raku

Try doing a google search under Japanese raku, some of it can be quite valuable.

Hi Andrew,
Yes, I agree that it looks like a modern potter's creation. Actually shape, color, glaze and bottom don't look Chinese at all. The character at the bottom gives the appearance of being Japanese, but not sure what it is, as it is not a standard Japanese writing either.
The clay and glaze holes sure give the impression as if they were created intentionally.
