help dating a dragon and cloud bowl

by Ryan
(Thailand)

Hi Peter.. Long time no see! I have a bowl here that I hope you can help me with. It has a dragon and clouds.. and an amazing patination(if that is what you call it). I am not sure if it is Ming or Qing. Perhaps you know something of the marks?
Thanks..
Ryan

This one has a shape that looks as if it were late Ming or Qing. The position of the double ring would point to late Ming, but the mark is off center, which is not normal with Chinese marks (well, they ARE off occasionally, but that is an exception). The character "He" means "Box". Never seen that mark.

I have also never seen the exterior decoration. It is rather crude. If this is Chinese, then it could be from some provincial kiln.
Bowls sometimes become that dark color from use, even vintage ones. Soup or soya and other food items may have lodged in minute crazing or pores, causing the whole item look brown.. Have you tried soaking it a day or two in a cleaning liquid?
