Hand etched mark on the base of brass candlestick

by Jodie
(UK)

Hello,
I have a pair of what I believe to be brass Candlesticks and one of them has a mark on the base which looks hand etched, it says CHINA (rather crudely I might add) so I wondered if anyone could tell me how old they are?

I did try and upload a photo but am having a little trouble so here is a link to them instead -

Hello,
I am not sure about its age, as I know too little about metal antiques, but from its appearance it appears to be from sometime in the 20th century. I would guess rather second quarter or later.

The character at the side of the base is not a mark, it is just a decorative auspicious character that means "longevity".
