I admire the art in what i have, and i would like to know more about it.

I have seen nothing to equal the quality or the artistic skill. Nore the detail or beauty of the leafy design and florals. The gold background and timmings, handles and lizard or dragans. I am not a fool, and my artistic intuitive self tells me I have something speacal and unquie.

Meryl,
The figures show Chinese clothing, etc. but it is certainly not imperial. Can be vintage but I think not antique.
The vase shape looks Chinese, but the overall red color and the many cranes are more typical for Japanese ceramics.
The mark would mean it is first half of the 19th century, but the style the faces and eyes are painted in make it 20th century. Definitely not a period piece. To me it looks like a mix of differnt styles and shapes as it would only be possible in the 20th century.

Therefore, with that additional detail I would rather think it is a vintage or newer item made in China, despite the colors. They male copies of Japanese and western styles too.

I encourage you to ask for a second opinion on asianart com. They have some forum visitors knowledgable in Japanese ceramics and art too.
