Anyway, Shanghai lies at the mouth of the Chang-jiang (Yangtse River). As ancient kilns were usually located near the clay mining area, woods (where they could get fire wood for the kiln), and waterways (for transport), you can imagine that a city like Shanghai would not have been making pottery.
But, west of it lies Taihu, the great lake; the town of Yixing is near its western shore.

What I mean is, the most likely scenario I would guess is that the company on the mark is a merchant or tea trader, who had teapots made in Yixing, possibly for export.
