Chinese Porcelain Jar (wucai jar)

Wucai Jar

Wucai Jar

I have a Bowl, and a type of Wucai Jar.

I am not too sure about them, all I know is they are antique.

I am from the UK, however I live and work in China, I have shown these to some reputable Antique Dealers (by photo), and I ma waiting for them to get back to me, however I would like a second opinion from anyone out there who may be interested.

One dealer in London, has told me that the the Wucia, should it be genuine, would be very valuable.

Should anyone wish to speak with me or contact me, my details are below.

Hope you can help.

Kind Regards

Wucai jar - answer

Hello Lee,

If the vase were genuine it probably would be Ming or early Qing dynasty. But the glaze looks rather new and the jar decoration could have been made in the 20th century. Early Wucai decorations are usually more sophisticated and very expensive. My personal view.

Peter
