Hi Roger,
The item has the shape of a censer.
But, it looks like a modern piece made to look old. With other words, a fake antique.

All of it looks too strange for Chinese antique ceramics of any age, which were traditionally limited in shape.
This means usually it is modern. The red inlay for the eyes in the feet is also something not present in antiques.
