Chinese character mark ?

Hello Peter,

I did submit this plate before and you
gave me the information I was looking for.
There is a marked scratched on the front.
I was wondering if this is a chinese character
mark or just a scratch.

This is not any Chinese character, as far as I can see. Are the lines made with many minute drilled holes? If yes, it is likely an ownership marking. Those often use illegible markings that are not characters proper. Please see "Marks", the description for other markings.
