chinese vase

Sorry to hear nobody responded. It happens sometimes, and sometims it takes a week or two until someone answers.

I have recommended the following sites to others before:
- A site in China, suitable for novices and collectors. Is free but requires you to have 200 access points before you can post an item (you get five free points each day you access the site), but of course requires you to be comfortable with Chinese. As they have a high volume each day, it can also be used for learning about ceramics.
- If you are into collecting, there is a site which requires a membership fee, but maybe worth it. It is probably the largest site in the English speaking world.
- A recent discovery - an online valuing service in the UK that requires only a few pound (the lowest of all I know).

Send me your email through the contact form of this site and let me know which one is of interest, I will send you the address.

Chinese ceramic vase

Kenny,

I cannot tell you much about it, because my field is more in the area of porcelain, this could be glazed pottery, but I am not completely sure.
I would suggest to try to find someone who knows more about earlier ceramics as there is a world of difference between earlier and later ceramics.

To me it looks like a Song dynasty Guan or Ge ceramic item, but I don't know if the bottom is right for that period. Bottoms were quite different before and after Song.
However, Guan and Ge ceramics have been copied later. Even a Ming or Qing dynasty copy would be antique, modern replicas have little value. If this is real Guan or Ge, its value could be quite good.

I recommend to try asianart.com first, to see if there is someone in their forum with more specific knowledge in this field. If you don't receive a clear response, please come back here. I will try to help you with more information where to ask.

Peter
