chinese butterfly and cabbage vase

by Susan Noonan
(Jacksonville, FL)

I have two vases, one small and one large but with the same butterfly and cabbage pattern. The small vase is approximately 6" tall, the large vase is approximately 9 1/2" tall. On one internet site, the small vase was quoted at $350 and dated circa 1875. Now I have found the identical vase only larger, so I want to know what it's worth.

Please read "Value of Antiques" in the left menu.

As far as I know cabbage items such as yours are mostly either from the late 19th century or later. They are possibly still made. The later ones are printed.
To evaluate age more (closeup) pictures of decoration and bottom would be required.

Price vs Value
by: Susan Noonan

Okay, so I am interested in the value of these two pieces, or lack thereof. I'm wondering if they are really from the 1800's or not. Any information or insight would be appreciated.

Hello,
We don't talk about price here as it is relative to many factors.
