Chinese Bowl Information

Please see photos.

Brown square mark (label?)on bottom has chinese characters which are barely visible. There is also another round mark with a line through it which also appears in the bowl art. The chinese bowl comes from my great great great? uncle Theodore (Ted) Hart or his father who gave it to my grandmother Aileen Hart who was his cousin. Ted's great-grandfather was Benjamin Hart. Please see link below

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benjamin_Hart_%28businessman%29 which gives an account of Benjamin Hart's business as an importer in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Benjamin's son, Theodore's wikipedia page is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_Hart

I guess the bowl might have been acquired in the 1800's sometime according to the ages above?

Not sure when the bowl was broken but it was packed in an old blue ice cream bag lined with thick paper well before 1988 when my grandmother died. I taped it together just to see if all parts were there. I used hockey tape so it would not leave residue.

thank you
Suzanne

Chinese Bowl Information #3

This last is a picture of the 2 marks on the bottom of the bowl. Blurry but there are definitely chinese characters in the tannish brown square.

thank you
