chinese 19th century vase ?

by David
(London UK)

Hello,

I have what appears to be a 19th century vase, but being an absolute novice I am totaly ignorant as to the exact period, origin, and whether it has any value, there appears to be court scenes as well as hunting or battle scenes.
It has birds on the side panels and protruding dragon type creatures on the hip and handle areas.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
David

Thank you Peter for your comments, I know the photos are unclear and really do not do the vase justice.
I will try to take some better photos and post them, however from what you can see can you get an idea of the period this kind of vase would have come from and maybe a region.
Many thanks
David

Chinese vase

Hi David,
It is difficult to see any details with these small pictures. To check if it is an original 19th century or a later item larger images would be required. Images with good resolution of the bottom, and one or two closups of the decoration. One should show the faces very clearly and they can be partial pictures.

Alternatively, you could upload larger pictures with high resolution to a website like Photobucket or Flickr and post the link here.
