Can anyone translate this mark

by Chris
(New York)

Original seal is orange color.

Original seal is orange color.

Hello all,
I have a punchbowl here with an orange seal on the bottom. The punch bowl has an american flag on it and some designs that resemble a port. I have included the seal that I touched up in photoshop. Any translation would be appreciated.

Thanks.

From the Chinese folk I've spoken to, they have given me the same translation. Here are a few shots of the bowl. Sorry I do not have any more at the moment - the bowl is not with me.

The final pic is how the stamp looks on the bottom. I can provide a few more pictures Friday evening.

Thanks again. This has been a fun adventure - trying to figure out the origin of this bowl. It's dimensions are similar to some "hong punch bowls" that I've seen online.

I believe that the item you have is not Chinese but rather Japanese.
The readings you got are right, the question is whether the second character on the right is what I think. If it is, then the right side could be a Japanese family name. The characters on the left mean color, visit, factory, in this order. But, translated either into Japanese or Chinese this gives no clear picture what they mean.
Your item could be modern, judging from this mark alone.

Mark

Hi,

I will post pictures of the bowl. The actual mark is much smaller and orange. I was able to get a few of the characters translated to "colorful" "forever" and "factory".

I will post pictures of the bowl and the best quality of the original mark.

Thanks.

This doesn't resemble in any manner a porcelain mark and is difficult to decipher. Better upload pictures of the item for identification.
