I have one similar, mine has bats on the top and a good luck symbol on all 4 sides, mine has wood lid and the porcelain has yellowed a little from age. nice tea caddy.

tea caddy

Annette, this is a tea caddy (茶葉罐).
Those items with a flat, unglazed bottom don't usually have marks, but agewise it is the same as the others.
I would try to clean it with dishwasher or soap water and a brush.
This cannot harm such underglaze blue porcelain.

They often have their lid missing. Sometimes they have a replacement lid from another piece, sometimes one made especially made of wood or metal.
