Old red and gold dragons tea set

by N
(Naperville IL USA)

I have an old tea set with a raised design of red and gold dragons. They have a mark that looks like a butterfly on the bottom of each piece. The cups, etc are very fine and translucent and you can see a lady's head on the bottom of each piece when held up to the light. Does anyone have any information about this set?

Hello,
This looks Japanese, and the translucent head sounds Japanese also.
Can't help much with Japanese porcelain, but I would look at Kutani porcelain, which has some porcelains that are predominantly red.
