I have a set of 6 plates and i cant figure out if they are chinese or japanese and if they are worth any vaule. Also the picture of the inscription is not very good. It is red with gold letters and looks like it could be painted on. Please help me figure this out.

Hello,
The mark pictures are unclear, but if they are bright red with golden characters, etc., then it likely is a Japanese mark.
The decoration/colors also look Japanese.

They are the least expensive we know.
