Blue design on crackled ceramic.

by Colleen
(Tennessee, USA)

quite dirty.

Bought this vase. It looks hand made, the top rim is not level. Unsure how to clean, or what the mark indicates, if anything. Anyone have a clue?

crackle ware
by: peter

Hello,
The is 20th century crackle ware (Fangge, if it is Chinese). Would need some closeups to decide further, but from the colors and designs it looks as if it were printed, not handpainted.
There is a spurious Qianlong stamped mark, only for decoration.

Not sure what you want to clean, but with crackle wares the crackles are mostly brownish in color. They are made to be that way; this means not that the crackles are dirty.
