What is this?

by Zip
(Hawaii)

This piece definitely looks old and the brushwork is rather crude. Clear mark on the back. Glare again, is from the skylight overhead, some glaze irregularities on back.
What do you think?

Hi Zip

Not much I can tell you as Japanese ceramics are not my cup of tea...
Except that the decoration definiely is Japanese as the decoration says.
This is a pure guess, but from the age signs I would say first half of 20th century. Could be corresponding to the Chinese early republican period.
