What does this Chinese mark mean?

by Min Faisal
(Indonesia)

Hello,

I just opened my old grandfather's cubboard and found the Chinese jar with such Chinese mark. I already showed and asked a question to one of Chinese art expert, and he explained that this mark is Ming - Jiajing period but this mark was from private kiln in Ming of Jiajing reign. However, He indisposed for doing more about this mark since he is a fee-based Appraiser.

My question is:

1. What does this Chinese mark mean?
2. What was private kiln of this mark when Jiajing of Ming reigned?

Thanks a lot for the help.

Regards,

Min Faisal

Hello,
I never saw this mark. It tellss who made or rather ordered the porcelain.
I would not try to authenticate Chinese porcelain by its mark. Its almost impossible. Usually, marks are the last that are looked at. Often the marks are misleading. Better upload pictures (including the bottom), to make sure what it is.
