vases

by Delores Hillier
(Brooks. Alberta. Canada)

I have 2 blue colored vases with a cameo on them with a ribbon of white flowers around the cameo. They belonged to my grandmother. The only marking on them is a D. On the bottom. Can you tell me anything more.

Hello,
Cameo vases are a European product, as is the mark you mention. I'm afraid we cannot help you much with such as we are specialized on Chinese porcelain.

What I suggest is that you do a Google image search for European porcelain marks. You will find marks and lists of marks this way. Search for your marks by visiting the websites containing the images. Unlike Chinese marks most European or western china marks are associated with a certain manufacturer; you should be able to find the information that way.
