vase with blue birds and green glaze

by Lucas B.
(Germany)

I bought the vase at a garage sale because I liked the beautiful pictures. A visitor suggested that it might be antique Chinese porcelain. I would greatly appreciate any information regarding the vase's age or origin. Lucas B.

Dear Peter,
Thank you very much for the highly interesting information and your kind appreciation of the vase. I did not expect to even get the name of the bird species depicted on the vase. I regard highly the fact that a knowledgeable expert shares his expertise with curious amateurs!
Best regards Lucas B.

Hello,
Yes this is Chinese porcelain, but it is difficult to tell how old it is from these pictures. The painting is nicely executed in a traditional style used in the first half of the 20th century. But the crackling seems to be artificial.
All in all a nice item. Congratulation to the find.
BTW, the bird could be a Mynah.
