Unknown Vase

by John Wilson
(Boston, MA, USA)

Found this vase in my great grandmothers attic a few months back. Probably nothing but wondering what origin it is if any.

Hi,
This is a Chinese jar. Because the pictures of this blog are too small, I cannot see if there are copper or brass wires in the decoration, but it seems to be enamelled. From the intensity of the color it has probably a brass base/interior?

Anyway, it is unlikely that it is very old, but excellent work and decoration.
I would suggest you post this on asianart.com. They are more likely to have someone knowledgeable regarding this type of craft.
