Two Shard Trinket Boxes

I think the boxes are papier mache or similar. Obviously newish or vintage. Wonder if there is any way to figure the circa of the porcelain tops. I even cannot figure what the figures are supposed to be. Also, let's say they are very old, do they have any significant value, taking in mind they are just broken fragments?

Personally I think this has little monetary or collecting value - just for decoration. The shards are decorative parts from the side of 19th century large vases or jars. Could be depicting foo dogs.

Be careful when buying these items as the shards may be new...they make even fake shards nowadays.
