Tea set

by Valerie
(Canada)

Could anyone tell me about this tea set that I purchased at a yard sale? It appears to be hand painted, and each cup and saucer has a different Chinese picture on it from the next. The Chinese characters on the bottom - I was told - is the name of a Chinese poet who wrote about tea.

The tea cups have a rim on the bottom that fits into a ring on the saucer. The saucers are rectangular in shape, leaving space for dainties.

I would love to know more about it!

Thank you.

Can't help you with this one as it is obviously Japanese, not Chinese.
