Small Tea-pot

by Kurt Karlsson
(Orillia Ontario Canada)

Hello Peter,
I wonder if you could provide some information about this small tea-pot. It measures 4" high, with white unfinished spots on both birds, (the top of the head, and on the upper chest). There is a clear mark on the bottom.

Thank You, Kurt Karlsson
Orillia Canada.

upside down mark
by: James

This mark is shown upside down, but is a nice, clear and probably recent mark. Could be Wu Jian Ming? No such name found on Google search though.

teapot
by: peter

I cannot tell you much about this other than that it looks like a teapot made in Yixing, and doesn't seem to be very old.
I cannot read this mark. Yixing teapots have the mark of the manufacturer or artisan's name; in this case a seal-type mark. The character style may have variations depending on the individual seal and may be difficult to read. It likely is a name.
