More pictures small bowel KL

by Charles
(Salisbury UK)

Thank you for the comments I thought I would add several pictures on these bowels with perhaps clearer shots of the marks. I was put off because the marks were not the same but there is nothing to suggest that these items were part of a set other than that I bought them at the same time from the same place. However because they are so similar in construction I would have expected the mark to be the same. My knowlege of markes is poor but I am keen to learn. The peices are nice to look at so I will keep them whatever but it would be nice to know the origon. as suggested I will have the metal identified at a local jewler, but have no idea where I could take the peices to somebody that is in the know.

Small bwel bought in KL

Small Bowel

Small Bowel

We Bought this small bowel in Kuala Lumpur from a street market. We spent a long time in the far east so have seen a lot of Jade and I do not recall seeing any like this, I am begining to realise that there are a lot of copies and forgeries around not surprising with the size of the market but is interesting finding out what we have good or bad news.

It will not stop us buying but we may just learn enough to make fewer mistakes.
