Real rose medallion or contemporary copy?

by Zip
(Hawaii)

This piece definitely does not look very old and the brushwork is not fine like on other examples. Mark is unclear but looks like the made in Japan handpainted in Hong Kong, but nobody in Hong Kong works for nothing any more which might make it a little bit old--but is it of any value?

What an accident. I just looked at some rose medallion dishes too, made in Hong Kong. You will find that their colors are abit different, that is look paler, than the older ones.
You suspect quite rightly that it does not have any high value. Personally I think this type of porcelain should be Qing dznasty to have collecting value. It was just produced in too large numbers. There is even a newer version which is all printed.
