The Chinese characters read left-to-right, so the piece was created after around 1955.

It is easy for a relative or friend of person who served in World War II to get the idea that a Chinese ceramic must have been purchased at that time. The owner could have purchased it later, or received it as a gift.

Are you sure this is vintage? This type of printed pot or jar is still being made today.
