Qing small bowl

by Pierre Jordaan
(Shaftesbury Dorset UK)

Finely painted bowl approx 100mm across. Good footrim. Mark in the form of a blue stamp. I'm not familiar with the mark. Photo of bowl, reverse and mark detail attached. I would appreciate your comments. Regards. March 2011

Hello,
Beautiful dish with lotus flower and ruyi pattern along the rim.

The mark is a "Yawan Zhencang" mark. The mark appears mainly on 20th century porcelain. I don't know if it is first half or later. It is hardly Qing dynasty as the mark apparently was made with a rubber stamp in blue, which is rare for earlier wares. Rubber stamp marks of the 19th century were usually in red.
