Qing Qianlong lattice bowl

by Tess

lattice bowl

This bowl/basket is a thrift shop find. Paid little and purchased only because I liked it. I did a bit of research on the marking which turns out to be Qing Qianlong. Now I'm confused as that dynasty ended 1765. Bowl doesn't appear to be old, but just want to make sure before I put it in the vacinity of kids and pets.

Hi, you are right, it is recently made.
The mark is only for decoration. Many Chinese porelain items, new and old, use marks of reigns in centuries past. They cannot be relied on for age estimation.
