Peter, I just sent some more pictures of the characters on the top and realized that only three characters across was showing hopefully this is a better view of the top, from Stan.

Hi Peter, thanks for your comment, I looked at other vases that are similar on ebay and it was amazing how many vases that claimed to be republic that looked very similar to my vase, showed women wearing the same red and blue, some of the women had white stars and some had blue. I think you might be on to something.

There is no date. Usually it would be in the last or second last column at the end (left side) of the text.
However, I must say that these pictures make me more comfortable with the age as being republic. Its age shows better on the back, especially the neck.
