Qianlong?

by Nastassia Barnes
(Schweinfurt, Germany)

Anyone know about this? Would love the help. I have been all over the internet and may think its some kind of Qianlong 1736-1796. but the stamp on the top left looks like 21. Is it a knock off. Any help would be great thanks.

plate

Hello,
You are right, the number shouldn't be there.
In my view, this item is from the second half of the 20th century, with the Qianlong mark added for decorative purposes only.

Real Qing dynasty items don't have people painted in the way this plate shows. The faces show western influence, and this began only far into the 20th century.
Actually, this cannot be considered a fake either. It is too far off the traditional painting styles.
