Pottery?

by Martha
(Marietta)

Hi I have 2 pieces of pottery -- a teapot, no lid, which is reddish brown unglazed clay, with a dragon or mythical animal and peonies (?) in blue glaze on the sides. It has a mark on the bottom. I know some Chinese students who said the mark is old Chinese and they can't read it. I also have a brown pottery urn, with brown glaze. It has raised figures of musicians and pine (?) trees. It isn't marked. Do you think you could tell me what I have, or do you just look at porcelain? Any help is appreciated very much. If my request is acceptable, I'll send you pictures over the weekend. Thank you!
