possible Qianlong small vase or jar? With confusing characters

by Sandra Dehue

Hi,
have this small round vase or jar with four hand-written characters on the bottom which look like "Qianlong nianzhi", but the first character is not 乾 but a character resembling 芤.

According to the person I bought it from it is a Guangxu although I don't know on what he bases this conclusion.

I am attaching three pictures.

I would be very happy if someone could help me further in finding out what type of Chinese porcelain I am dealing with here.

The pink in the top view picture is a little deeper than in this picture I took.

Thank you in advance for any feedback.

Hi Sandra,

The mark is a Qianlong mark indeed. There are several variations how that character is written.
The body could be Guangxu, including the apocryphal mark.but I doubt the painted decoration is that old. It looks more like the style used on more recent items. It could be that part of the decoration was added later. A hands-on inspection might be better to clarify that.
