Hello Peter,

I am curious about what I guess is a censer (found in the attic of my historic home). Could you tell me about its history? Also, where might items like these be bought and sold?

vintage at the most

The bottom on this item looks recently made to me, I have both Chinese and Japanese censers and the bottoms are different on older porcelains censers, I would say this is vintage at the most.

Could be Japanese. The mark looks Japanese too, but probably not that old. The other possibility is that it would be Chinese, made for the Japanese market.
Maybe someone else can tell you more...
