Plate identification

by Robert
(Brighton, England)

I am a complete novice and would be grateful is somebody could help me identify what I take to be two hand painted plates with the same under stamp. The under stamp is two letters ME with the M having a small bubble on it. They also have 3 marks where the plates rested when fired (I think) I hope somebody can help.

You could try to find the mark on a site like www.oldandsold.com, for example...

Hello Robert,
This is European or American porcelain. Definitely neither Chinese nor antique Japanese.
I recommend you try websites with European porcelain marks first, to find out who the manufacturer with the ME mark is.
