PETER COULD YOU IDENTIFY THIS GREEN GLAZED POT?

by Andrew

Hello again Peter,
thanks again for your comments regarding Sancai ware....I really need to learn about oriental shapes, sounds like a huge amount of knowledge & time needed to acquire information.
Being elderly, I don't think I'll catch up to where I'd like to be, but it's an interesting journey for me.

Peter, I have this pot/jar has incised ribbing & probably moulded, 2 fish chasing each other pattern....similar to fish you see on Longquan celadon fish plates.

Is it an earlier type of celadon?
or is it a Han dynasty type green glaze?
finally could this be from a shipwreck find...Thailand?

I really am guessing here.

Any info as to origin, age or glaze class would be most valuable as always.
again sincerely,
Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
No, this is not Han dynasty.
To me it feels more like SE Asian. I would try to find it among Vietnamese or Thai wares.
