Origin and info on this Jug - Chinese?

Hi Peter
Have attached some photos of what appears to be a Chinese Jug. Did they incise marks like this in early ware or would this be a later technique? Jug on offer to buy but no info given. Your advice would be appreciated. Thanks Chelsea

Hello,
Yes, could be Chinese. With this specific item I would think a hands-on inspection is required to make sure from when it is. Judging from these pictures it could be that it is either very old or very new.
The two characters on the bottom were likely scratched in later, not at the time of manufacture.
